Experience

Andreas von Werder has been a partner since 1996 and works in our Frankfurt office. He is a member of the corporate practice group and specialises in mergers & acquisitions and private equity transactions. Andreas is head of the private equity team of the Frankfurt office.

Andreas was born in Stuttgart in 1961. He completed his legal education at the uni-versities of Marburg (Germany), Geneva (Switzerland) and Strasbourg (France) and obtained the degree of doctor of law (Dr iur) from the University of Marburg. In 1988, he earned the degree of a master of laws (LLM) from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Thereafter, Andreas worked for Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts in New York, Frankfurt based law firm Peltzer & Riesenkampff and with Baker & McKenzie in Chicago before he joined Freshfields in 1991.

Andreas is admitted to the German Bar (Rechtsanwalt) and a certified tax lawyer (Fachanwalt für Steuerrecht). He speaks German, English and French and has a good knowledge of Spanish.
