WIG Political Breakfast Briefing June 2009
On 25 June 2009, Freshfields were pleased to host the Whitehall Industry Group (WIG) Political Breakfast Briefing. Peter Riddell, Chief Political Commentator of the Times reviewed the challenges and issues faced by Gordon Brown and the Labour Government over the past year and gave delegates an insight into the interesting political landscape in the run-up to the next General Election.
Transfin 2009
Our global infrastructure and transport sector group were proud sponsors of Transfin 2009, which was held at the Hilton Hotel, Barcelona, from 22-25 June 2009.
The discussion focussed around innovative financing techniques and debt/equity provision strategies. We launched our second annual Outlook for Infrastructure 2009 thought leadership piece which maps out the deal pipeline for infrastructure in various regions. It also debates the proposed economic stimulus that the infrastructure pipeline will bring to the worlds economy and its likely timing...
Infrastructure Investors Forum: New York and London seminars
In February 2009 our global infrastructure and transport sector group were proud to once again associate ourselves with the Infranews 'Infrastructure Investors Forum' for 2009. With infrastructure being a hot topic in the mind of most decision makers and at the forefront of the press we were please to be able to add to the debate by sponsoring the New York and London seminars and producing two overview briefings and a webcast on the outcomes from the events and the future of infrastructure in the downturn.
Global Airport Development (GAD) 2008
We were pleased to sponsor Global Airport Development (GAD) 2008 which was held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Budapest from 24-27th November 2008. The discussion focused on key industry issues including the continuation of the effective financing and development of airports. The IATA Legal Symposium 2008
The IATA Legal Symposium is the world's premier annual aviation law event, with a reputation for insight, relevance and value among aviation industry in-house counsel, private practitioners and government attorneys. The Symposium is known for outstanding speakers, a lively exchange of ideas and extensive networking opportunities and was held in Buenos Aires on 10-12 February.
The topics covered included: Airline Alliances, Mergers and Joint Ventures; The Protection of Passenger Privacy and Air Transportation Data; Focus on Latin America and Airline Insurance and Risk Management. Alan Ryan, one of our Aviation and Airports sub-sector leaders, spoke at the Symposium.
Infrastructure Investors Forum 2008
We were pleased to once again host the 2nd annual infrastructure investors forum, in collaboration with InfraNews, on 28 February 2008 at our offices. The one day briefing, entitled Investing in European Infrastructure as an Established Asset Class, brought together many leading infrastructure investors and financiers in a Chatham House rules environment. The topics covered included: the current state of the market, how parameters have changed in the past six months, the opening of new markets and recent changes in the debt markets.
