Milton Lawson graduated from the University of Lancaster, where he obtained a Masters Degree in Philosophy. He worked for a major international law firm, based in its London and Hong Kong offices before joining the firm.
Having been a resident in Vietnam since 1993, working in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City heading the Vietnam offices as a partner of a major British law firm, he is one of the longest serving foreign lawyers working in Vietnam. He has advised on many inward investment, infrastructure, commercial, and financing transactions. He has spoken at various conferences on these and other legal issues.
Recent transactions in which he has been involved include:
- a deep-sea port and industrial zone near Haiphong;
- US$200m telecommunications network system in Hanoi;
- BOT water treatment in Ho Chi Minh City;
- 650MW power plant at Hiep Phuoc;
- Phu My 2-1 project;
- Publicly-funded water project in Ha Long;
- US$500m fertiliser plant related to the Phu My 3 project;
- a S$700m integrated bauxite mining/alumina refining project; and
- Tredia-Vung Tau deep-sea water port project.
Milton was born in 1954. He speaks English, French and some Arabic.
